Convert Boot to VHD Hyper-V VM to VMWare Virtual Machine

If you have Boot to VHD VM (which leverage all your hardware) and want to convert it to a VMWare virtual machine, please follow the steps:

  1. Download WinImage and install it.
  2. Convert the vhd disk to vmdk following the WinImage instruction.
  3. Create a new VMWare VM and using the converted disk.
  4. You cannot boot the VM directly. Using a Windows installation disk and repair the windows.
